The Tatarstan State Song and Dance Ensemble is a legendary ensemble with a 75 years of history.
The Tatarstan State Song and Dance Ensemble is the only professional ensemble with truly national Tatar traditions, music and dancing culture, arts and crafts represented on a very high professional level.
The Ensemble has always been distinguished with and awarded prizes for its high performance level and bright concert programmes. Within the period of its existence, the Ensemble won several prizes at All Soviet and All Russian competitions, the International Carthage Festival in Tunisia, the 43th International Festival in France, Gabdulla Tukay State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as several competitions and festivals.
It enjoys an active concert life around Russia, The Commonwealth of the Independent Cultures and abroad. The Ensemble represented cultural heritage of Tatarstan in China, Mongolia, Tunisia, Turkey, Italy, Malta, Slovakia, England, Germany, Japan, Yemen, Finland, Yugoslavia, France, etc.
The audience is always under the impression of the Ensemble’s accurate attitude to the Tatar national arts, to the choice of folk songs and dances, to the very manner of their interpretation and presentation intercepting every performance.
The repertoire includes all kinds of Tatar national arts: songs, legends, dances, poems, sketches, etc. But that characteristic blend of professionalism and penetration remain unaffected.
Every concert is always a large and a bright event leaving the image of the Tatar national culture in minds of the audience.
The company is consistent of 66 members divided into ballet company, chorus and the orchestral group.
